The Minister of Education has decided to authorize the principals of the schools in disaster affected areas to open or close schools under them. Permission is granted to them to take this decision after they observe the situation as to what extend that school is affected. Additional power of this nature is given to the Principals in addition to the Provincial and Zone Educational Directors.
Such Principals are further instructed to bring it to notice of the Provincial or Zonal Director of Education in case if it is a national school, the Director, National Schools. This decision could be taken by the principals regarding their school based on the media communication regarding disaster in that areas.
The Minister of Education has further called upon the officials to furnish him, as soon as possible, with a report containing the situation of the children who were affected by the disaster. It was decided to obtain all further information with regard to all requisites for school children including books, uniforms and other material with a view of give them relief.
