Asia Pacific Children Forum was held since 1989 I order to enhance peace and harmony among races and this time also scheduled to be held in Fukuoka Japan. A team consist of 10 members representing Sri Lanka is due to participate and the ticket awarding ceremony was held on 12th at the ministry of education by the minister of education Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam Attorney at law.

Sri Lanka is among the nearly 50 member pioneer states of this forum and since then have participated each year. As per the conditions of the forum the participants should be 10 years and 7 months old males and females should be 11 years and 7 months and will be selected from students who scored highest marks from grade 5.

The forum will be held from 14th July to 25th  July and this time the theme will be BRIDGE Summer Camp 2019.

The education minister Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam Attorney at law has instructed ministry officials to fill immediately the vacant 1918 grade iii government school principal posts. 

Accordingly the Principal Branch has taken steps to hold interviews by the end of July to select the applicants who have scored the highest marks from the examination held on 10th of February to recruit principals.

3881  who have scored highest marks will be called for the interview.

On instructions given by the education minister already 3901 have been enrolled as Principals after holding limited competitive examinations and interviews as per the Minutes of the Sri Lanka Principal Service ending the appointments given to political favorites as Acting Principals during the past political regime.

Unlike the past political regime and the 52 days short period all recruitments will be done on the instructions given by the minister  in order to introduce a transparent administrative system  to education field.

 

The Education Minister Mr. Akila Viraj Kariyawasam Attorney at law has instructed to recruit new principals immediately to education system as per the new service minute of Sri Lanka Principal Grade III, in order to full fill the vacancies island wide and accordingly the ministry has taken steps to hold interviews.

By 2018 it had been identified 1918 Grade III principal vacancies in all schools of this country and the interviews pertaining to that will be starting from 29th July. Out of those who came highest from limited competitive examination held to recruit principals doubled the amount of required vacancies will be called for this interview, and the calling letters have been already sent.

In addition the list of officers called for the interview is published on education ministry web site www.moe.gov.lk . The information about the date and time of interview also will be published tomorrow (19) on ministry web site.
