The acquisition of 15-acre land to construct the proposed National College of Education for Technology was held yesterday (16). The land had been allocated from the NLDB farm in Narangalla.
The minister had commended the achievements made by students at the International Young Scientists competitions held during 16-22 April 2017 in Stuttgart – Germany.
The Minister of Educations has taken steps to secure the authenticity of the educational certificates issued by the Department of Examinations. This is a jointly conducted with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. As per the instructions of the Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam,the Ministry has entered the process of sending out the copies of education certificates to embassies of the respective country whenever it is requested by any party. Therefor the margin to alter certificates will be reduced.
Archeologists have uncovered some important artifacts from the excavations carried out in Polonnaruwa and Thissamaharamaya by the Central Cultural Fund. These projects have been launched under the guidance of Minister of Education AkilaViraj Kariyawasam.
Initial session to check educational qualifications to promote Principals fromGrade iii to Grade ii will be held at the ministry on June 2,5,6,12. Total of 1056 candidate have applied for their promotions. Also there will be a qualification evaluation session for the teachers intending to be promoted from Grade ii to Grade i.
